Rowntress Randoms - Campaign Project

Project:

This school project was about creating a marketing campaign for Randoms, a product by the British Confectionery Manufacturer Rowntrees.

Role:

Product Design, Design Program, Webdesign and Development

Description:

The Project had a timeline of 6 weeks to achieve creating a hypothetical campaign to introduce the product on the Danish Sugar Confectionery market.

We started off doing intensive research into Rowntrees' stakeholders, the Danish market and the company's competitors. Creating a SWOT / TOWS analysis gave us a better understanding of the company and creating personas and a customer journey helped us understand the target group better. We developed both a USP and ESP and narrowed down which Porter Strategy to follow.

All of this research helped us make informed decisions regarding our Communication and Campaign Plan. We settled on Social Media Marketing. To adjust the product for the Danish market, the product design was altered and the Design Programm adapted.

Lastly we created a website as a hub for information and the campaign launch competition. To accomodate competition entries and comments and likes, the website made use of a database, implemented with php.

Fairtrade - Campaign Project

Project:

In order to raise awareness about Fairtrade's work, we created a campaign involving a 360° Video.

Role:

360° Video Editing

Description:

This project was my first contact with 360° Video and because of that it was a very interesting and new experience.
As a group we came up with the video's concept. We decided on shooting a Lego Stop-Motion Film, symbolising the differences between a bad trade deal and a Fairtrade deal. The video shoot was carefully planned by creating a storyboard and shooting was done with Samsung Gear 360 Camera and carried out within a day.
When it came to editing, the 400 images were stitched as equirectangular and sequenced. The video was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
40 individual sounds and sound effects were recorded directly into Adobe Audition to be used in the stop-motion video. Finally, Adobe After Effects was used to add in a photo of a sky using a keyframe-animated mask, in order to hide everything that wasn't part of the stage.

Palm Oil - Campaign Video

Project:

This Campaign was created to raise awareness about the dangers and crimes surrounding the palm oil industry. It was a school project in collaboration with Greenpeace

Role:

Video concept, directing and editing; Design Program, Web Presence

Description:

To get started with this project, a lot of research was conducted. This included analysing Greenpeace with the aid of SWOT and PEST, as well as analysing the target audience by creating personas.

When it came to creating the video, we started off with creating a storyboard. Filming took place within one day.

Fitting with the theme of the campaign "Rainforest for Breakfast", the video shows the protagonist Jan in his morning routine. Starting with him taking a shower and brushing his teeth and ending with Jan eating breakfast and leaving the house. In all 3 steps of Jan's morning he is using products containing palm oil - in the video emphasised with pieces of wood, which symbolises the rainforests that are being killed to make room for palm oil plantations.
